Fashion Employment

Felder Felder / Knitwear Designer / AW 12 – SS 13 (2 seasons)

  • commissioned to design knitwear for London Fashion Week AW 12 show
  • developed original patterns into knitwear pieces to work alongside full collection
  • sourced yarn and created samples for presentations
  • one piece featured in the WGSN trend report for next winter
  • due to popularity I will be producing one off show pieces for next season SS 13

Urban Zen by Donna Karan, New York / Design Intern / April 11 (1 month)

  • helped with day-to-day running of the studio, assistant to studio manager
  • cut patterns and made sample garments for SS 12 collection
  • helped style models for fashion shows
  • helped arrange press presentations with magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue
  • sourced fabric
  • assisted the jewellery designer in construction
  • kept track of garments travelling between the factory, store and presentations
  • liaised between the studio and factory to ensure quality control

  • final collection will be part of the next edition of ‘Knitwear in Fashion’  and ‘Fabrics for Fashion’ publications, for the use of innovative technique in final collection
  • look book has been featured in Ecru and Lone Wolf magazine
  • collaborated on a very successful menswear collection with another student to create mens knitwear for a catwalk show and editorial shoot.
